SpellChamp!

SpellChamp! helps kids learn and practice spelling words using four different games, each one a little more challenging than the last. Over 5100 of the most frequently used words are already defined to use in creating spelling groups. Parents, teachers, or students create groups using specific word criteria such as matching letters or using any of twelve spelling rules and ten categories of words. In the classroom, teachers can define spelling groups and beam them out to students so they can practice their words through the week.

Four different games lead kids from recognizing the correct spelling to being able to spell the words on their own. Choose the Spelling gives three different spellings to choose from and let's them select the correct one. Word Scramble shows the letters of the word scrambled up and they put them in the right order. Fill in the Blanks shows how many letters are in the word and they fill in the correct letters. And finally, Spell the Word doesn't give any hints, but let's them see if they can spell the word all on their own.

SpellChamp! also tracks how many times they've guessed each word correctly and helps them work on those they're having trouble with by automatically selecting them more often for the games. Students, parents, and teachers can view their scores for each game or monitor how they're doing with each of the words in a group so you'll know where they need to concentrate.

SpellChamp! Games

• Select increasing challenges from Choose the Spelling, Word Scramble, Fill in the Blanks, and Spell the Word.
• Each game presents a sentence with a blank indicating the word to spell.
• Algorithm automatically detects and selects trouble words more frequently.
• Review words before the game to get familiar with the sentences that are used. Tap on a word in the list to view the corresponding sentence.

• Define any number of groups with any number of words in each group.
• Choose from over 5100 defined words.
• Limit word choice by specifying the number of syllables or a letter combination of up to three letters to match at the beginning, middle, end, or anywhere in a word.
• Spelling rules include words with prefixes or suffixes including specific types (i.e., nouns, verbs, adjectives, or adverbs), words with silent e's, words that follow the i before e except after c rule or exceptions to this rule, and words that change a y to an i, drop a final e, or double a consonant before adding an ending.
• Categories include homophones, sight words, compound words, contractions, animals, people, calendar words, numbers, places, and often misspelled words.
• Beam word groups to other devices running SpellChamp! Excellent for teachers to use in a classroom setting!

• History of scores is maintained per student both on a game level as well as for each word in a group.
• Students, parents, and teachers alike can easily see how they're doing with each word in a group.
